“Redemption’s Claim”

“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love . . . In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.” (Ephesians 1: 4, 7)

In your searching!  May God bless you!  Guide your path!  And show the way!  With a bump!  He then can teach you!  Life’s great trials!  Refining rays!  True commitment! Endless struggles!  Climbing up to Heaven’s gate!  Faith un-faltered!  Still Enduring! Atoning love!  To seal your fate!  Hope in asking!  Charity grasping!  Works revealed!   Upon this earth!  Lasting power!  The final hour!  Redemption’s claim!  Of your great worth!       (Poetry by R. Lyle Johnson)

“Spring’s Welcome”

Winter’s canvass!  Now is passing!  Silver heavens fade away!  Soft clouds graced!  With azure skies!   Spring emerges!   Here to stay!   Drops of living water flow!   And white turns into green!   Colors bursting!  Thus declaring!   With God’s hands!   Amazing scenes!    (Poetry by R. Lyle Johnson)

“Spring’s Birth”

Innocence and purity!  The beauty found in Spring!   When creation’s voice is echoed!   It is a magic scene!   Silence turns to symphonies!   A chorus in meadows, and nests!   All the newborns dance and sing!   It seem they never rest! Colts and calves, kids and lambs.  Dancing in the fields!  Ducklings swim, and chicks they fly.  Spring’s pageant seems surreal!   (Poetry by R. Lyle Johnson)

“Winter’s Magic”

“He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.” (Psalms 147:16)

A new poem!  “Winter’s Welcome”

Dancing crystals!  Across the sky!  Blankets of white, afloat!  Frosty blue nights!  And glistening stars!  Time for mittens and coats!  Chilling nips! Icicle drips!  Strolling in pure driven snow!  Freezing bites!  And beautiful sites!  Enjoying the Winter’s glow!  (Poetry by R. Lyle Johnson)

A second poem!  “Winter’s Play”

Sleds and sleighs! Snowball fights!  Angels made in snow! Smiling Snowmen! Glittering lights! A family’s love that grows! Fireplace sparks! Cocoa by hearths!  Stories and songs we sung!  Memories of play!  Forever to stay!  In the hearts of children so young!  (Poetry by R. Lyle Johnson)

“Autumn’s Beauty”

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”     (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

The chill of the morning breeze!  It signals a change!  Beautiful colors!  Joyfully arranged!  Foliage and trees!  Orange, yellows, and reds!  Dancing of leaves!  Floating about my head!  Wonderful memories!  Seasons come and go!  God’s beginnings and endings!  They light up my soul!     R. Lyle Johnson

“Life’s journey is a series of beginnings and endings with endless opportunities to grow and to become one with God!  I would have it no other way!    R. Lyle Johnson

“To The Shores Of Paradise”

“If thou art called to pass through tribulation; . . . if thou art in perils by land or by sea;        . . . if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.”  (See reference D&C 122: 5-9)

I gazed upon endless waters!  Far beyond, sunset’s view!  God’s promptings bid to cross them!  My quest!  Urged to pursue!   A vision, and a promise!  Of peaceful, blessed shores!  I set my craft!  Embarked the course!  And sailed for something more!  . . . .  R. Lyle Johnson

“Fences In Our Lives”

“A revelation I give unto you concerning my will; and if thou art faithful and walk in the paths of virtue before me, I will preserve thy life, and thou shalt receive an inheritance in Zion.” (D&C 25:12)

So many walls and fences!  In my life, I have found!  Fences that need mending!  Walls that must come down!  Borders that protect us!  Dangers kept at bay!  God’s counsel, gently offered!  To guide and guard my way!    R. Lyle Johnson

“And make straight paths for your feet  . . .  Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:” (Hebrews 12:13-14) (See D&C 112:4-8)

“A Bridge To Heaven”

“But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding? Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.” (Job 28:12-13)

O’er jagged cliffs, and towering heights!  Crushing currents, rage below!  And yet we pass. With scarce a thought!  Of dangerous threats, that flow! . . . R. Lyle Johnson

The bridges that we cross in life allow us to see both beauty and danger.  Bridges are gifts that offer safe passage and refuge.  The greatest gift is the one that builds a bridge from mortality to eternal life.   See full version of the poem “A Bridge To Heaven’s Gate.”

“The Path I Have Chosen””

“Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” (Matthew 7:14)

“O then, my beloved brethren, repent ye, and enter in at the strait gate, and continue in the way which is narrow, until ye shall obtain eternal life.” (Jacob 6:11)

The quiet pathway I have chosen.  Is different than most friends.  No clamor, lights, nor glitter.  But silent peaceful ends.  Tranquil trails that whisper!  And teach me truths unseen! I walk the narrow path of faith!  To Him, who is my King!   R. Lyle Johnson
